Driftwood Sweet Trick
Topic: Aquaria
Find a piece that would be easy to punch a whole out of. most pieces almost have holes in them but they just need a little "encouragement" to put a hole all the way through. After this look around and find a plant that lives in drifted wood, Put this thpugh your hole and your piece of drift wood will look better. I have actually seen this in stores already prepared for about $35. Mine that I created is larger and it cost me around $20. $15 for the driftwood, & $5 for the plant. try it

Plants & Rocks
Topic: Aquaria
It's my belief that you should ONLY add real plant. The fake crap looks stupid as well, your fish will prefer things that are more natural to their enviornment. It may be hard to find what will work in your tank, i know i had many plants go brown. It's just a matter of trial and error. It's more work, but deffinatly has a impact in the end result. Also add rock in arrangments to create hiding places, driftwood works great as well.

Feeding (bet you didn't think of this)
Topic: Basic
Nocturnal fish i.e. plecos and such feed only at night. So if you put rounds or waffers in during the day they most likely wont eat. just throw in two or three (depending on size) before going to sleep.

Feeding
Topic: Basic
You should feed two to three times a day. Feed a variety of different food to your fish. If you think about it fish don't eat the same thing day in day out in the wild. So why would you feed them the same thing . Your fish will "blow up" in size, have more brilliant colors, ane be more happiy over all. As always read learn before deciding what to feed.

Water Changes
Topic: Basic
I made the mistake of pulling out 1/4 of the water every week with a modified milk jug and dumped it into a bucket. also I am aware of people who fill it up as it evaporates. This is unacceptable, and I wish someone would have told me. Use a siphon, they vacuum the gravel and pull out all the bacteria and nasties you don't want in the tank. This will make a huge difference and help avoid old tank syndrome.

Treating Ick
Topic: ICK
To treat Ick you should first pull the activated carbon from your filter. This will remove any medicine that was added. The if you don't already have on had by some Ick treatment from your local aquatic store. Be Careful because not all fish can take treatment. Read Label's and ask questions. it's not worth losing fish because you put any treatment in there. Some are for scaleless fish, some kill snails. Just do your research.
