Topic: Aquarium Setup
1-Rest bag in water for 20 minutes so the water temperatures are equal

2-Open Bag and let water come in to the bag. best case scenario the fish will swim out

3-If he's still in the bag after twenty minutes, net or open the bag further and gently pour him out, without pulling the fish or bag out of the water all the way.

tip: if the fish is your first one wait 24 hours before feeding

Light Knowledge
Topic: Aquarium Setup
-Plants require 12 hours of florescent lighting

-A sudden change in lighting will stress fish

-Leave lights on in the room for atleast another 30 minutes

-Use a timer, fish respond better when the lighting s constant

-Plants and fish require dark as well as lighted periods, dont leave your lights on for 24 hours

-Drip Loops will stop water that leaks out from reaching the outlet

What's a filter for???
Topic: Aquarium Setup
in your aquarium, most likely, There are more aquatic plants and creatures then you would find in nature. in-turn this cause there to be more biological waste (POOP) then usual this will turn toxic. filters will remove biological and chemical waste, as well as oxygenate the water.

Thing's To Avoid
Topic: Aquarium Setup
Heat registers will affect the temperature of your aquarium, as well as cooling ducts. Windows will cause an outburst of uncontrollable Algae. If it's possible, avoid anywhere the sun might come through and hit the Aquarium directly for long periods of time. Light Curtains or blinds really don't do the trick to blocking out the sun. Ray's still get through.

Glass or Acrylic
Topic: Aquarium Setup
Glass is cheaper and resists scratches better than acrylic. Acrylic can be shapped better and sometimes looks better as well.
